VSA

VSA

VSA, the international organization on arts and disability, and CVS Caremark All Kids Can share a mutual commitment to improving the lives and learning of children with disabilities and are expanding the role of the arts in inclusive education through All Kids Can…CREATE!, a joint yearlong program. Since 2007, the two-part initiative includes the Call to Create which has received thousands of artwork submissions created by children with disabilities. From these submissions one piece of artwork from each state and the District of Columbia is selected for a touring exhibition that debuts in Washington, D.C. The second component, the Call to Engage, presents teaching and service opportunities to VSA affiliates, teaching artists, and CVS employees through Artist-in-Residence programs in which students and teachers participate in eight-week residencies. The Call to Engage also connects CVS Caremark with the All Kids Can...CREATE! initiative in their communities. Working in concert with VSA affiliates, CVS locations and employees create and carry out activities and events within their communities such as including art events in stores, distributing materials, and participating in the selection of artwork for the All Kids Can…CREATE! exhibition.

VSA stands for:
V
ision of an inclusive community

The film also features four other families with varied inclusion experiences.
